Jules Otway
Illuminating, striking and enchanting. Precision is made through encapsulating detail and expanding on the visual story with subtle symbolism, Julian Otway merges the high quality with the 3D media to an elevated fantasy realism, surreal and suspending disbelief within the dream-like setting, as the music bewitches the audience, creating a fandom through a unified experience; if we escape through our music then Otway has found the key to a heavenly connection to which we have been granted access. The musician, the artist and the label have the visual ambassador of choice.
Working within the production industry, Otway will produce masterpieces that reflect upon his unique visual aesthetic whilst also meeting the brief. Displaying the storyboard process he will identify the complexities and adapt a few concept ideas for his client before beginning production. Otway has the ability to captivate short stories for music videos, cover art and enticing video teasers. Working with labels such as Republic Records, Spinnin’, Tomorrowland Music and XO as well as iconic artists like The Weekend, Timmy Trumpet, Charlott Boss, Vengaboys and more, his enchanting talent is doing more than fan engagement, it is absorbing them into the artist’s world.
Timmy Trumpet’s “Life Like This” video production shows the cycle of life in the zoetrope structure forming the equilibrium within itself and really showing the meaning within the message. Appearing as an art installation with plaster construction he made the figures appear omni-applicable by removing the unique details of gender and facial features. Multiple features are shown within life's cycles, such as greed for wealth, the intimacy of love and isolation and the desire to be complete. Creating a deeper layer of meaning on the self-destructive tendencies that create the never-ending cycle of life. Life Like This forms a disconnection from reality that influences a degree of anonymity and fantasy realism, Otway finds a way to have the music and the visual art as one that entices the audience to become entranced in a temptation that guides us to want more.
