Marie Pol

Marie Pol creates a bridge between cultures. She has studied to perfect her skills and techniques of academic art at the prestigious Imperial Academy of Art, St Petersburg, Russia whilst incorporating the eclectic mix of contemporary art influenced by the Renaissance and exploding with the bold splash of colour that emotes a presence between two minds.

Pol had previously been working successfully within the top tier of tax consulting with her mind always returning to the passion that drives her. Realise that life is worth the risk to follow the internal inspiration that flows through with each brushstroke that dips within the oil paint. 

Living across the world with the beautiful 18th-century architecture of St Petersburg, Russia where she taught travellers as a guide around the city as well as moving to Luxembourg, Singapore and now venturing to the new of Sydney, Australia. She speaks 5 languages that have given her the voice and vision to understand and incorporate her cultural awareness within what she paints. Painting late at nights, when the world reaches its calm as she plays the Italian radio while her artworks become their dance upon canvas.

The “Under the Same Blue Sky” collection shows multiple settings where we all look up to see the same blue sky, touched by the moments to always look up and find the optimistic approach. Something very needed in the world of today. The collection flows with the impressionistic movements upon round canvas’ as if it is seen from our own eyes, bringing us back to the nostalgic moments when we could just lie and relax within the nature that echoes around us.

Her ‘Back to Antiquity’ collection shows the touch of inspiration Pol received from Michelangelo’s “David” and the structural concept that shows the ability to be lost in a moment. The beauty of the sculpture can be seen from any angle with the elegant abstract creations flowing around the statue. What do these ghost-like symbols mean around the physical sculpture? The physical sculpture may represent us as a dominant identity and the textured beauties represent what we are feeling or identifying around us. 

Pol has adapted her approach to growing from the mind's eye as a universal way of seeing and feeling the life around us, always positive and romanticising with the expression of colour and the texture of strokes. In a world where we must present ourselves to achieve our best, Pol has achieved this through enticing the experience of being lost in her works as the perfect escape from the commercial reality of what had once defined her being. She now presents what can be achieved when we feel through our mind’s eye and take the dive into her works as the flirtation of colour reconnects our emotions in time.
